Wind Turbines For Business , Case Study – Hobsons Brewery – Uk – Gaia Wind Turbine.
There has never been a better time for Uk Business’s to adopt renewable generators, such as Wind Turbines, especially with Feed In Tariffs comming into play on the 1st of April 2010.
Take a look at Hobsons’ Brewery , a passionate Uk based beer company that have introduced several innovative green technologies, namely the very impressive Gaia 11kw Wind Turbine, which alone currently meets 30% of their energy needs.
Hobsons Brewery says..
“We don’t just follow others when it comes to sustainability, we also create innovative solutions where there were originally barriers. For example when we were told there were no technologies to simultaneously heat our bottle store and cool our barrel store utilising a ground source heat pump system we designed our own solution. For the past 3 years now we have created an imaginative yet environmentally efficient system that recovers heat from the cold store well. Four boreholes were sunk providing a constant 11c of water that is then compressed for heat or cooling or both. It is so effective that we now heat the offices using the same system.
To enhance the efficiency of the ground source heat pump we installed a 11kw GAIA Wind Turbine, a pretty twin blade design that powers about a third of the brewery’s requirements. When the turbine is used to power the compressors that provide heating/cooling from the boreholes a super efficient system is created. Even from the top of Clee Hill yo can spot the spinning blades of the turbine, so if your sat-nav fails just look out for our GAIA Wind turbine.”
